It’s that time of year when the most buzzed about movies are hitting the box office and celebrities don their best and most edgy gowns for their numerous red carpet appearances. For the most anticipated awards show of the season, why not have a party to get your closest friends together, sit around in your comfiest clothes, and buzz about who wore it best and who will be talking home the prizes of the night. For the perfect Oscar Sunday celebration, here are our 5 Oscar Party Night essentials.

Oscar Party Drinks

It’s not a proper Oscar party without a signature cocktail.  To match that iconic gold figure that everyone hopes will be going home with them, champagne seems very fitting. Bon Appetit’s Classic Champagne Cocktail calls for a sugar cube, 2 dashes of bitters, topped with bubbly and a twist of lemon in a champagne flute! If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, we love this Ruby Red Grapefruit deliciousness from Making it With Stephany.

The Snacks

Lean-in to the movie theatre staple, but kick it up a notch. Set up a popcorn bar, by letting your guests add their own salt, pepper, cheese or even chocolate chips:  the sky’s the limit!  The Food Network is offering up some great popcorn ideas here. A cheese plate, with olives, crackers and fruit is also a good snack to munch on for the night, and it’s easy to put together with these tips from The Kitchn. If you want to serve something a little more substantial, get the makings for these tasty and easy flatbread pizzas from designlovefest.

The Attire

Let’s be real: on a Sunday night, the last thing anyone feels like doing is getting all dolled up just to lounge on the couch to watch the Academy Awards.  It’s way more fun to get on your coziest PJs, and watch the movie stars come down the Red Carpet.  So set your dress code: comfy & cozy only!

The Invitation

Get the word out about the biggest night in Hollywood (or on your couch) easily with digital invitations. Include your dress code and even the menu on the Details Page, so your guests know what is in store. Some of our favorite designs for an Oscar party have some dash of Hollywood Glamour or champagne detailing. View designs here.

Print out ballots for your guests to fill out their predictions of who’s gonna win big while the Red Carpet is on.  And for those lulls in the program or when you have heard enough of that speech that never ends, set up a photo booth for your guests and use a polaroid camera to get instant gratification! Sugar and Charm and Studio DIY are both offering awesome printable Oscars party Ballots that you can print ahead of time for when guests arrive.
