After moving back to my hometown of Seattle in 2012 to pursue Greenvelope full time, I set up a “home office” to tackle the next growth stage of Greenvelope. At that time, all my employees worked remotely so I did not initially see the value of moving to my own office space. I loved the home office lifestyle (no traffic, no added costs, no dress clothes, etc), but I didn’t know what I was missing…

Greenvelope Office Surf Incubator

When I learned about SURF incubator, home to 60+ tech companies on one floor, I was intrigued. SURF provides a community office space for early stage start-ups to rent desks on a month-to-month basis. With no long-term lease contracts, I figured it would be worth setting up a desk for a month.

Since moving into SURF Incubator last March, business has grown exponentially and we have added 5 new people to the team. I am confident we wouldn’t be where we are if I was still working from home. SURF Incubator allowed me to hire employees and network in the Seattle tech community. In addition, I am constantly inspired/energized walking into an office surrounded by entrepreneurs who are so passionate about their ideas (and drop everything to follow their dreams).

We will be moving into our own office space in February to start the next chapter, but we owe a big thank you to SURF for providing a much needed home while in our early growth stage.

Be sure to follow SURF to keep up to date with startup and entrepreneurship culture an events in Seattle.
