Traditional Indian wedding invitations

Although currently residing in California, Priyanka Shetty and Rahul Gupta knew from the beginning that their wedding would be held in their hometown of Mumbai, and could not wait to, in Priyanka’s words, “infuse elements that are traditionally vintage Indian and fun aspects of Bollywood” into their truly international wedding.

Frequent Skype calls with the most dedicated wedding planners one can find, the parents (and the rest of the family) helped Priyanka and Rahul set up a gorgeous 4-event wedding that included a ring ceremony cocktail party, pre-wedding rituals, wedding ceremony, and post-wedding reception!

Priyanka’s wardrobe throughout the occasion ranged from the bright trousseau to a vintage pink sari with big pale gold polka dots. The outfits showcased Priyanka’s personality as well as her cultural background. To top it all off, Priyanka wore a beautiful red sari with gold motifs for the wedding ceremony,  about which she says “the main motif on the sari being the eagle, which is symbolic of Bangalore, the city I was born in. Rahul wore a cream, gold and red sherwani to match.”

Priyanka & Rahul’s 3 tips for couples planning their weddings:

Don’t Stress. While it’s alright to aim for the your dream wedding, be prepared that things do go wrong – once you change the way you look at this, it definitely helps.

Do Normal Things. In order not to have your life taken over my wedding-mania, remember to have days where you say, think and do nothing wedding-related.

Soak in Every Moment. Enjoy it because this is once in a lifetime and you want to remember all the moments and memories!
