When the sun is bright and the breeze is pleasant, what could be better than a nice picnic? We know that going on a picnic isn’t all fun and games, and that there is actually quite a bit of planning involved! We’re here to provide you with some tricks and some tips to hosting the perfect summer picnic for family and friends.

  1. Plan Ahead: Depending on where you are located, and when you want your picnic, you may want to look into potential locations first! Do you want a little peace and quiet with your significant other? Maybe try going on a weekday then! Are you looking to go with a group of friends? Send them invitations beforehand, preferably environmentally-friendly ones.
  2. Pick Your Food Wisely!  While everybody loves a good steak, you’re going to want to bring food that requires relatively little effort to prepare. Here at Greenvelope, some crowd favorites include cheese and crackers, fruits, and perhaps some pastries from your local bakery!
  3. Don’t Forget the Extras: Don’t forget the little things, like disposable utensils and dishware, bottled drinks (for convenience,) and other non-food essentials such as sunscreen, insect repellant, and hand sanitizer!
  4. Cater to the crowd: Bringing your children? Don’t forget the frisbees and kites! Taking your significant other on a romantic getaway? Perhaps a bottle of wine and portable speakers to relax to. Or perhaps you’re finally taking some well deserved me-time. Bring that book you’ve always wanted to read!
  5. Be prepared from start to finish: Remember, half the battle is getting there and getting back! Don’t forget foil and wrap for leftovers, and some baby wipes to make sure everyone is clean. Finally, remember to bring a trash bag or two for clean-up! After all, you want to leave the area nicer than you found it!
