Hanukkah cards, small gifts, and food on a table

Sending Hanukkah cards can be a wonderful way to share the joy of the season with loved ones and honor this special Jewish holiday. If you plan to send Hanukkah cards this year, we have all the details you need to craft a special message along with 12 of our favorite card designs.

The Best Time to Send Your Hanukkah Cards

With Hanukkah (or Chanukah) beginning on the 25th day of Kislev every year, the exact dates can change. For 2023, Hanukkah runs from December 7 to December 15.

If you were sending your Hanukkah cards by mail, you’d need to allow plenty of time for your recipients to receive them, especially during the mad rush of the holiday season. As such, mailing out any physical note cards should be done before the end of November. If you’re hosting or attending a Hanukkah party, you can instead hand them out in person.

If you’re sending digital greeting cards, like the designs in Greenvelope’s Hanukkah collection, you don’t need to worry about inevitable mail delays. You can find, customize, and send your Hanukkah card the night before or even the day of, knowing your loved ones will receive them instantly via email, text, or even social media.
