Shawn&#8217;s work exemplifies\u00a0his keen eye for typography and color.\u00a0Today we are excited to\u00a0learn a bit more about the man behind the playful designs.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Your\u00a0\u201cday job\u201d is working as an Art Director at a Seattle advertising agency, so what is it that you like about designing stationery?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">I like the opportunity to step away from all the hustle and bustle of big business stuff and just do fun, simple, and sometimes silly as heck designs for parties. &#8216;Cause,\u00a0y&#8217;know&#8230; Who doesn&#8217;t like to party?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">What other forms of art do you do?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">I used to shred hard on American electrical rock guitars, but I haven&#8217;t done that for a while. Sometimes I paint portraits and sometimes I invent new and innovative dance moves that nobody has ever seen before. That&#8217;s art, right?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Your Greenvelope designs are so unique &#8211; do you have a favorite?<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">I like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenvelope.com\/designs\/invitations\/bro-time\/yellow\" target=\"_blank\">It&#8217;s bro time bros!<\/a>\u00a0because I think it&#8217;s funny, but as far as looks go I like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenvelope.com\/designs\/invitations\/old-school-vegas\/green\" target=\"_blank\">the Vegas one<\/a> and the simple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenvelope.com\/designs\/invitations\/gully\/blue\" target=\"_blank\">Please Join Us<\/a> design. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenvelope.com\/designs\/invitations\/party-like-it%27s-1900\/blue\" target=\"_blank\">Let&#8217;s Party one<\/a> is cool too.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2755\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenvelope.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Shawn-Diaz-Blog-image.png\" alt=\"Shawn-Diaz-Blog-image\" width=\"850\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.greenvelope.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Shawn-Diaz-Blog-image.png 850w, https:\/\/www.greenvelope.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Shawn-Diaz-Blog-image-300x86.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The stationery industry is largely female-dominated, do you have a favorite dude designer or typographer?\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">Armin Hofman, Alan Fletcher, Herb Lubablin and other guys from the &#8217;50s and &#8217;60s are great typography dudes. There&#8217;s also fine artists and illustrator\/designers that use type in great ways like Lawrence Wiener and Chris Von Szombathy. Shegio Fukada is one of my favorite all time designers. I get pumped when I see great graphic design and find out that some old dude made it like 60 years ago. It&#8217;s like, &#8220;Dang dude!
