Today’s post is brought to us by Brynn Renee of Dandy & Fine Parties

Outdoor Entertaining Essentials | Statement glassware and simple florals

Summer is coming, summer is coming! Hooray! Summer is so symbolic, isn’t it? There is such a nostalgia around it that spurs from childhood… Longer days, bicycle rides, pool parties, more sleepovers with your friends. One of my fondest childhood summer memories is of a party we threw for my friends in my backyard when I was in high school. My mom and I went all out! She sewed pillowcases for floor pillows and created a lounge on our upper deck area that was filled with lots of Moroccan style lanterns and tons of candles. It was my favorite area of the whole party! And may I remind you that this was WAY before boho chic was even a thing! Through the preparation and setup of the party, she taught me a lot about the importance of details and just how to create ambiance.

In that very spirit, let’s talk about a handful of essentials you’ll need for all of your outdoor entertaining this summer! read more…

We’re all adults here, and for the most part, adult gatherings come with adult beverages. Just as Greenvelope has different templates for different events, there are definitely different drinks suitable for different occasions. Without further ado, we present the Ultimate Guide: Cocktails for Every Occasion Part One.

Waiting for your flight: If you have a long flight ahead of you, you would want a cocktail that you can stretch, meaning one you can savor. Something fresh that plays with all your senses, and will help keep you awake. Perhaps a refreshing Mojito with ground up mint leaves and lime will do the trick.

Spending the Night at Home: Sometimes, nothing beats cozying up and reading a good book, or watching the latest episode of “The Bachelor.” When this is the case, make sure to settle down with a refreshing White Wine Berry Sangria. This White Wine based cocktail, mixed in with some berries and berry extract, sets a light and refreshing tone for the night. read more…

Local Business Spotlight: Snoqualmie Vineyards

Snoqualmie Local Green Business Collage

We work in the party business. Sometimes party culture isn’t very green-friendly (think Solo cups at house parties–eek!).

Lucky for us, Snoqualmie Vineyards, located just 2.5 hours outside of Seattle, takes sustainability really seriously. Here at Greenvelope, we’re always looking to support local businesses, especially ones that consider the Earth and our beautiful state.

Snoqualmie has been green since way before it was cool (since 1983!). They use recycled bottles, earth-friendly corks, a gray-water recycling system, and agricultural practices that protect native plants. Even their grapes are certified organic!

Snoqualmie Local Business

“Great wines are about understanding when to relinquish control to Mother Nature; we can do little to improve her bounty. I think trying to let the fruit come through in the wine without doing extra magic or processing is the best way to showcase each varietal.”
Joy Andersen, Winemaker

So next time you Seattleites are looking for local drinks for a party, consider Snoqualmie’s many wine varietals. Don’t fret, non-Seattleites! You can buy their wines online.
